What we collect

Google sign-in supplies your stable Google account ID, name and email. We store these to provide accounts, listing management and reviews. Your email is private; your Google display name and published-review count appear beside reviews. Business information and approved photos are public. We strip image metadata when photos are processed.

Location and external services

Near me requests your permission first. Your coordinates are used to search nearby businesses and can appear in the search URL and hosting access logs; we do not add them to your account record. Entered postcodes are sent to Postcodes.io to find a map location. Google provides sign-in. Opening the map loads Leaflet from unpkg and map tiles from OpenStreetMap, whose operators receive your IP address and requested map area. Directions open Google Maps.

Why we use data

Account, listing and review processing provides the service you request. Moderation, security logs and abuse controls support our legitimate interest in running a trustworthy directory. Location permission is optional. We do not use advertising trackers or sell account information.

Cookies and retention

An essential session cookie keeps you signed in and protects forms. No optional analytics cookies are included. Records remain while the account or listing is active; contact us for deletion. We may retain limited moderation and security records where necessary to investigate disputes or abuse. Hosting backups follow the hosting provider’s retention arrangements.

Your choices

You can edit or delete your reviews, remove your photos, and request account access, correction, export or deletion by email. You may withdraw location permission through your browser. You can raise a data protection concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
